Based in Southern California, David Raminfard leads Kaslen Textiles and NewPoint Fabrics Inc., where he provides a host of fabric types for everything from high-end home interiors to commercial upholstery. One popular type of textile that David Raminfard stocks is sheer curtains.
Sheer curtains combine airiness and transparency. They offer a variety of effects that diminish direct light exposure while still allowing natural light to enter a room. Available in a variety of colorful patterns, sheers can provide a playful finishing touch to decor. Sheers may be crafted from polyester or lightweight, pliable linen (or a combination of the two). They may either be used to create a billowing effect by being draped along the floor, or skim the floor surface so as to create a more precise and formal look. In addition to softly diffusing light when drawn, they act as a framing device that brings attention to a specific area of the room. In cases where greater privacy is required, a dual heading may be used to house both blockout blinds and the sheer material on one rack. Alternatively, sheers may be paired with bamboo or patterned fabric blinds in such a way that allows those designs to be subtly seen through semi-transparent material.
